I re-asked this because I don't think I was going to get a answer anytime soon. Please answer I really do need to know.

Okay. So about a month back I decided to look on my life and see where I was going I found out no where. I mean. I wasn't awful or anything. Decent grades, good social life. Just no real skills that I'm going to manage to use. I tried drawing...I don't think I was half bad, but ehh. I just find it so boring for me. So I want to play a music instrument. I used to play the trumpet around 5th gradish, so it's been about 5 maybe 6 years since I last played one - a insturment. I really want to play the Cello because of how amazing it sounds and I think its a very unique instrument. So. How much do beginner Cello's cost? I don't want the most amazing thing out on the market that's going to cost thousands of dollars. I was looking around and saw that most prices are around 200ish. What's a good brand with a nice Cello, that I can get for a fair price, but again nothing to great. Yet. If you could link me to somethings that would be really great! Also if you play any kind of musical instrument. Mind telling me what it's like?

The most basic playable cello will run at least $600. You can get cheap cello-shaped pieces of plywood for less but they don't really qualify as musical instruments. If you want the amazing sound you love you're going to have to spend somewhere in the thousands to get it. The basic beginner cellos don't have a good sound.

For a good brand of nice beginner cello you'll need to spend around $1000. Intermediate cellos that sound nice cost several thousand. The most amazing cellos on the market cost in the millions. $200 cellos are good for firewood.

Basic beginner cello that sounds okay and is playable:

Well first off those cellos you find on Amazon for about 200 dollars are TERRIBLE! I had bought one thinking it was good for a beginner but I brought it to my cello teacher on the day of our first lesson and she tried to work with it but after a half an hour she looked at me and told me it would be about 2,000 dollars to fix and have it playable. So she explained how renting a cello is excelect. I went threw a company called McCourts Music which is perfect because in the contract if the cello gets lost stolen or broken they have policies to work with you to your advantage. Another great music company for strings is called Shar music they are amazing as well. So long story short for a beginner rent for a while then buy and with the two companies I listed when you rent, credits build up so the money you put into renting will go into the cost when buying. Hope that helps.
