Connor i have been playing for 30 years an i use YOUT TUBe and ultimate guitar ( they have tutorials) online free. on you tube i just get in and type how to play and the song and it shows up, type in basic guitar lessons, and keep searching i am sure it is there , just takes some looking, i am looking for jazz chords to learn currently like steely dan uses etc, if you are just starting as a peice of advice the first month or so is hard on your fingers and its VERY frustrating, make sure guitar is tuned correctly and set up right with the action NOT to too high as that make it harder to play and you dont need that right now,,learn three basic chords "D", "A' , and "E" , then learn "C" , and "F", if you dont have a tuner get one at the local music store or look on line( sam ashe, or guitar center ) and there is a couple of sites online that just give you tones to match the guitar to for the correct string, i wish i had you nearby i could help you as i enjoy passing along the life long satisfaction of playing a guitar, take a few days to learn the chords i have given you and then after that play them in succesion like d,,,, c,,,,g,,, c,,,, or d ,a, g, and just strum up and down and get the idea, its a long process but after about a month it will get more intersting because you can start putting stuff together, look on craigslist for a local teacher giving lessons i started out at the local recreation center one summer my buddy and i took lesson there it was fun and there was about 15 people in the class we had a good time, ALLWAYS REMEMBER TO NOT BE SHY ABOUT YOUR PLAYING , GET UP THERE AND PLAY IN FRONT OF PEOPLE TO LEARN TO BE A GOOD MUSCIAN, DONT BE AFRAID OF WHAT THEY WILL THINK, THEY CANT PLAY OR DO WHAT YOU DO, AND ITS GOOD FOR YOU TO BE IN FRONT OF PEOPLE , GOOD LUCK
