On guitar tab how do you play x notes?

Question

I am learning a Japanese song called Minna no peace ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyCiPHtGx5E ) But the guitar tab I found has power chords and after them are rows of x's like this :

They are just muted. If you are not sure what i mean, the chords are not fretted! Don't push down on the strings. Lay your fingers across them and play the chord to get a "muted" sound. If you have any questions please let me know. I play as well.
