Does anyone play the banjo?

I'm just interested because it's such a wonderful instrument,is it hard because I'd like to learn a lot :3 ?

Is it hard? No harder than, let's say, guitar -- but no easier, either. You can learn a few basic chords and strum simple song accompaniments pretty easily -- but playing fast, intricate 3-finger bluegrass fingerpicking up-to-speed will require A LOT of time, patience, and practice. Figure on taking a few years at least, to get really good at it, especially if you want to learn to play by ear and improvise your own solo breaks for songs (which you will want to do, if you're serious about learning banjo).

The basics are quite easy (learning what you do with your left hand) but learning the picks (what you do with your right hand) takes a lot of practice.
