the well-tempered Clavier would be a good place to start.

there a nice mix of difficulty level in there as well as some of the best music the man wrote.

I bought a book called schirmer's library of musical classics vol. 2057 The Well-Tempered Clavier 48 Preludes and Fugues. It is an exellent book and I would recommend it to anyone. A good song to start with would be prelude no.2 in c minor you'd really like that song, I'm learning it now. A very good beginning song is the first prelude of the first book.

The price of This Schirmer book I bought was only $15 which I thought was way reasonable and you can find it at any music store. If you arent sure whether you want to buy it or not I would suggest checking at a local library they often have sheet music especially bach that way you dont have to pay.

Good luck in your piano journey!

Well Tempered Clavier is too advanced....

I suggest starting with these and going down in this order.... In fact, this was the order of books Bach used when he taught his kids... This is not my order but this is Bach's actual teaching method.

Anna Magdalena Note Book

Little Preludes and Fugues

Two Part Inventions

Three Part Inventions

French Suites

English Suites

Well Tempered Clavier Book 1

Italian Concerto / French Overture

Partitas

Well Tempered Clavier Book 2

Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue

Start with this ... if you learn and play all the 3 part inventions good for you... Most young pianist won't learn all of the 2 or 3 parts even though they should. In theory they should learn them all before taking on the WTC... however, most teachers are too lazy to do this and don't know how to teach, and most students are to lazy to do this as well.
