I'm in high school and my English class is taking a trip to New York this week. I play the ukulele and some friends suggested that I try busking during our down time. I've tried to find any laws or regulations online about street performers and from what I've read it looks like as long as you don't have any sound equipment you're free to play. Does anyone know of certain places that would be off limits to me? Or of good places to go? I've never done this before obviously, so any tips about the regulations will be welcome :)

Yes you do. And there are assigned spots - if you try to take that of someone else, you will be asked - very sternly - to LEAVE. This is NY - we do not mess around.
