Hi, I'm 15 and getting alot more serious at drums and need to upgrade my snare. I don't need a pro snare but I want a good one. i am on a budget of about $250 which could be stretched a little. I don't know if i matters butI play hardcore metailsh music which has some softness to it(Chiodos, The Devil Wears Prada, Escape the Fate). I was thinking of buying a Tama Superstar so that's an example. Can you give me a name of a snare? Thax soooo much

$229.00 - Pork Pie 14" x 6.5" Maple:

The extra inch of depth will give you a much fatter sound, while keeping the warm tone of maple

$199.99 - DDrum Dios 13" x 7" Aspen/bubinga:

Even deeper drum for a fat sound, but the slightly smaller diameter will create more of a crack. Good sound for the price.

$249.99 - Pearl SMX Maple 14" x 6.5"

Very professional sounding drum with a great finish

But .... my personal #1 reccomendation for you:

$149.99 - DDrum domino ash 13" x 7"

A very loud drum with a great snare sound - perfect for your playing style and a beautiful looking drum

These are my reccomendations as they are all drums I have tried before. I would suggest taking a trip to your local music store and trying a couple out for yourself though. There's no way of knowing what your really going to like without listening to them in the flesh.

Hope you find what your looking for.

Happy drumming!

A DDRUM 7" X 13" Dominon Ash snare. I think they go for $150 - $175 at Guitar Center. You see, Ash is a much louder wood than Maple, Basswood, Mahogany or Birch so you can't go wrong. So it has more bite in your hits. If loudness is what you looking for. Ask is like Oak, only much cheaper on the budget. I've been hearing lot of great things about DDRUM drums lately so that's why I'd say that brand.

Also, you could check out the Tama 8" X 14" Artwood snares too. I think those go for like $230.

length - the stick sizing is going this way. The decrease the huge form, the wider the stick shaft is. 2B's are seen thick. there's a a million length in spite of the undeniable fact that this is uncommon. 5A and 5B are seen time-honored. 7's and eight's are what jazz adult adult males, and youngsters with small arms use. I used to apply 2's, now use 5's. as a approaches by way of fact the tip is going, i might say the rounder the greater suited. Acorn and ball tips are great. And get timber tip for the fabric. The nylon tipped sticks fall off after a mutually as. in case you have larger than hardship-unfastened arms, circulate with 2's or in case you will locate it, a three. in the adventure that your arms are hardship-unfastened, then 5's are effective. in the adventure that your arms are small or you like the follow experience a splash thinner, then circulate with 7s.

Hey I personally like Truth Custom Drums. They may be expensive, but the sound quality is amazing. I am currently saving up for one after Christmas. Go to their website or Myspace and check out some of their stuff.
