Ibanez and Yamaha both make some pretty good classical guitars for under $200. You should get one with a solid spruce top for that price or slightly higher. Go to a music store and see what they have and try some out.

I highly recommend this one at $219 with a solid spruce top:

I know it's slightly above your $200 limit but I think you'll find the solid spruce top much better sounding than a laminate or solid cedar top guitar. At least that has always been my preference.

Your best bet is to go to your local large guitar store like Guitar Center or Sam Ash with your specifications. There are a lot of inexpensive, good playing and sounding guitars out there. I recommend the larger stores as they have a bigger selection and overall lower prices. Epiphone and Yamaha are two well made brands you might try out. Be sure to compare. Don't go for the first one you pick up unless you are certain that's the one that does it for you. Also, make sure the neck fits your hand and the strings aren't too high above the neck. Classical guitar string action will, by it's nature, be a bit higher than steel stringed guitars. Good hunting and great playing!

I recommend Ibanez

Their ga3 and ga5 models price at 130 and 200 respectively.

For an extra 50 bucks you can go with a Ga5tce or a ga6ce.

I highly recommend Ibanez. They sound excellent, last a lifetime, and are beautiful to look at. Even the name Ibanez derives from IbaƱez, a the legendary spanish nylon design. If nothing else, try some of those out next time you visit your local music store.

First of all, do not purchase starter packs with the amp integrated and all. I might advise the Spider Amp (Line 6). It's one hundred$ even. It has blank, steel, grunge, and insane sound choices. I have one and feature had no issues. As for guitar, you would desire to visit the shop and truthfully see them and contact them. Les Paul's and fenders are well starters. DON'T purchase a began percent if you can simplest purchase one guitar. I'd advise a gibson melody maker, nevertheless it simplest has one million pickup (one million is adequate for rookies, two is well too)and is 380$ -four hundred$. Sorry however it is over your fee variety. Good Luck.
