sax fingerings are pretty much the same as flute- there are only a couple variations. the biggest difference is the embouchure, which is completely different from the sax

I actually went from playing flute to saxophone. It is generally easier to do it this way because of the changes in your mouth position, however it can be done. You will notice that a few of the fingerings are different (ie. F#, C, etc.). What you will really have to concentrate on is your embouchure. It is very difficult to explain without a visual. You will want to narrow your airstream into a downward and diagonal direction. Another thing you will want to be aware of is that, generally, flutes play much higher notes so you will have to familiarize yourself with these notes as well. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

I've heard that on the fingers' thing is very similar... But the real problem it's at the blowing....
My flute teacher told me once that it's easier if you know first the flute and the the saxophone than first the saxophone and then the flute....

no, flute requires a completely different mouth position then sax and youll have to tone done the blowing too. they are very different instruments.

Your biggest advantages are:
1. You would love to do it.
2. You already ready music.
3. You have already played more than one instrument.
Your biggest disadvantage
You seem to be concerned about it's difficulty.
Best Solution
Try it.

It can help with the fingerings, but the embouchure is completely different- you'd really be starting over.

Easier than starting from scratch, but in part, it depends on the shape of your lips.

it shouldnt be to hard since you already know how to read the notes and stuff.
