I really wanna start playing and the one I get will definitely be one of those two. I am currently leaning towards a Jackson, but I know nothing about guitars and want to know what other people think.

They are both awesome brands. I have used both on the road and in the studio and have to say that I would go with the Paul Reed Smith. The knobs aren't in the way. The weight is comfortable. It just sounds a little bit sweeter than most Jackson guitars.

Good luck choosing :)

Hi Lelouch

The price of a guitar is irrelevant. Period. The musician is the one who makes the guitar sound however he wants and not the gitar itself. I have a top end, collectible 1963 Gold Top Les Paul. But I also own a Jackson and let me tell you one thing, the bite on the high end is more responsive than any Gibsons.

I love the 24-fret job and the active elecronics which responds amazingly with arpeggios and guitar sweeps. The sustain and harmonics are more than just responsive.

Your choice. Paul Reed will not play any better than the Jackson. How do i know, I have one.

I would say PRS Guitars are made with better quality than jackson guitars, although some of the Jacksons out there are high quality as well. PRS is definitely a jaw-dropping name brand though.

They cost a lot as well, usually a couple thousand.

You can probably get a Jackson for much cheaper and similar quality though.
