Every question Mikey answers ends up with Eastman, Wonder if he knows there built in China?

Ok so what you have here is 3 different guitars, Seagull S6, Made in Canada, Wild Cherry 3 layer laminate back and sides, Solid Cedar top, lots of depth and warm tone, Yamaha FG700s, Made in China, Solid Sitka Spruce top Nato back and sides, Nato is basically a cheap version of Mahogany abundant in Asia, Good all around tone, as its trying to use the tried and true Spruce Mahogany combination, Taylor Big Baby, that particular model made in Mexico, Just a laminate guitar, nothing to write home about, actually stole Godin's pressure treating process for there Mexican made laminated guitars, Seagull is a Godin brand by the way,

So now that that's cleared up lets just throw the Taylor under the bus and forget about it,

Seagull, Quality is top notch but as with any manufacture a few turds slip through, but not often with this brand, Cedar is a soft wood so care not to bang it around is needed, but that's where it gets that nice warm tone, the Wild Cherry laminate is a Godin thing, Has a more Rosewood bright tone to even out the bass tones of the Cedar, add in a Rock Maple neck for sustain and you get really good combination, but I'm sure they already had that figured out, most likely why the S6 has won all the awards it has, really good sounding playing guitar for the money, and you wont go wrong for the money,

Yamaha, Well there's a reason this company has been in business sense 1886 or so, put out a good product at a good price, its what they do and always have done, The design and materials are as old school as they get, Spruce and Mahogany are just an industry standard for many of the worlds finest guitars, granted not real Mahogany but you get what you pay for and its pretty damn close, Durable is a plus also, these guitars can take a pretty good licking and keep on ticking, unlike that Cedar top, so that's something you may want to consider, On a whole, In my opinion the Seagull has a much better bottom end and the bright side not too overpowering, great strumming guitar if you use a lot of chord progressions, The Yamaha better for finger picking where you want a bright end for individual notes to stand out and just a mid range bottom end,

All of these guitars would be an upgrade from the guitar you have now. You're entering the territory where there are no bad guitars, just ones that better suit different personal preferences. For this reason, it's best to try before buying. I can tell you what I like, but your taste may vary.

Of the three, I'd probably go with the Seagull S6 with solid cedar top. It's a nice mid-priced guitar.

The Yamaha FG700s is a great value. In the US, it costs about half as much as the Seagull. It's often recommended as the best "beginner" guitar because it's got the sound of much more expensive models.

The Big Baby is a fine playing guitar, but I don't think it can match the tone of the other two. The ones I've played tended toward being twangy and didn't have the full bass response that I look for in an acoustic. It has a slightly smaller body and 15/16 scale making it a good choice for smaller people.

I'd go with an Eastman E60M instead of all of your choices. The Seagull S6 is a dreadnought with a cedar top which is going to be a very warm guitar lacking in treble. I don't care for the Taylor Big Baby and the Yammy is just another low end dread. If you want a good sound, get an OM.
