Hey :) Thanks for checking out my question.

I was just wondering what your favorite guitar company is. Mine would have to be Schecter, Jackson, or PRS. Also, why do you like that company?

Thanks!

I have a few, But as a company my least favorite is Fender, Simply because of the way they do business, Take Guild and Tacoma for instance, first they buy Guild and shut the factory down, putting those people out of a job, and move production to the Tacoma factory till there Corona CA. factory is finished, once it is they shut the Tacoma factory down putting those people out of a job, then to top it off end the Tacoma brand altogether, Great guitars by the way, one of my favorites, In the case of Jackson, Yes they also bought Jackson/Charvel, They basically got in bed with Grover Jackson then kicked him to the curb when they were done screwing him, Fortunately he bounced back and you can still buy a real Jackson as the GJ-2 brand, As to Gretsch, they didn't actually buy the company but were able to purchase the rights to use the name, as to how bad there screwing the Gretsch family, there's speculation, In any case you can buy an Asian made copy of any of these once US made only guitars, Not that I have anything against Asian made guitars but I think using a well known US name to sell cheap Asian made guitars is a bit under handed, At least Gibson uses the Epiphone name for its imports, But what's in a name? Heck I have a First Act, although it was made at there Boston MA. USA custom shop, I have a Korean kitten distributed by Rondo Music, Basically just a Jackson Soloist with an Agile logo, just a little nicer for a few hundred dollars less, most likely came off the same Korean guitar factory assembly line, I also like my Godin, made in either Canada or the US, They don't outsource any of there guitars, Pretty solid business practice in my opinion,

I've owned guitars from most of the big name companies including their custom shop models. But, I have to say that the two companies that have consistently been the highest quality for me have been Widman Custom Electrics and Nash Guitars. The customer service from both is great, but they are smaller companies. The quality is just always perfect and they sound and feel better than most PRS and custom shop Fender's and Gibson's I've owned that cost twice as much.

This is one of the two guitars I have purchased from Widman. Every guitar is a one of a kind hand built instrument and no two are alike. He never makes two with the same finish and options. This one has a chambered mahogany body with a Sitka spruce top. Lindy Fralin P90s, Brazilian Rosewood fret board and solid billet brass bridge.

Caparison and Mayones top my list of guitars I really want.

Of things I can actually afford, I like Schecter and some of the new BC Rich models.

I also like ESP.

Taylor has an admirable business model, and produces very nice instruments as well. They have been very involved in working with African and South American governments as far as the sustainability and use of various exotic woods and training local people to properly harvest and process these limited resources.

Further, they seem very responsive to user input and have their ongoing 'Taylor Road Shows" where they showcase their products and take feedback and suggestions from the customers. Nice folks. I own a GS Mini... Very nice little axe.

I've never owned a PRS and don't like the ornamentation on many of them, but everything I've heard from the man himself and the way his company treats its employees makes me like them.

I also really like G&L. They make great guitars for decent prices and seem to have kind of a cool attitude and vibe. Hamer was interesting, too, but its ownership history and finally being completely closed is sad.

But mainly, for me it's hard to see this video and not like Collings (and that attention to detail really shows in the instruments):

haha BEND, not Bent, Oregon (my home state, btw. nice gits, have one). Reverend makes great affordable guitars, very HQ, as good as USA. Joe Naylor (da boss) accessible, involved innovative guy. Even got email from him one time. My Rev 6 gun is as good as any strat or tele I've played, period. Wish more would try them.

Other ones I am fond of include Larrivie and G&L. Hope to get Commanche on next trip to USA.

Martin (acoustics), then Gibson (US electrics), then Fender (US electrics). They pretty much wrote the book. By now, there are better guitars, but they got there first, and I can't afford one/justify buying one, anyway. Just damn good.
