I write this at the end of every message. Now for the question that comes with it. Do you know what you should charge for a CD you have written? I'm in a rock band and we have made our first CD. There are 13 tracks, rock music, and we want to keep the music local. Any idea on what we should charge, and where to get gigs in the San Diego area? Thanks a bunch!

music that's not yet well known tends to go for 5-10 dollars. i'd say it's a safe range and you shouldn't have too much trouble selling them at that price. i've been to many concerts and shows around the world and when the music's less widespread, the most it'll sell well for is 15-20. i've had kids from high school selling CDs for 10 and some guys in their twenties selling music in canada for about 5. they tend to have about 10 tracks or less. just make a good cover and make the first song one you can pretty easily get into.

Try to get a gig somewhere, I'm not from CA, just saying what I'd do (I'm in almost the same position as you but we haven't made any cds yet) and let people hear your music and have some cds there on sale for like, $5. That's a reasonable price and if they like your music then they'll pay for the cds.
