Guitar Noise Suppression Options?

Hey guys, I've got a Boss Blues Driver, an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi, and a Digitech RP-50 playing through a B-52 LS100 and a Marshall 4x12 8ohm cab. I've got a considerable amount of hum from the pedals and the circuit powering my amp. I've swapped out all my cables for livewire elites and power all my pedals with batteries. I would like to invest in some noise suppression, right now I'm thinking about putting a Rocktron Hush pedal behind my amp in the effects loop and hook up an Ebtech Hum-x to get rid of the noise from my power source, would that be enough? What other options do I have? I'd like to keep it less than 300 dollars.

1. Are the outlets in your home grounded? Is your amp plugged into a power strip that has had the 3rd pin removed?

Electrical current can be heard when it is not grounded as a 60 cycle per second hum which can become very loud with powerful amps.

2. Try cleaning out the input/output jacks in all of your gear- over time rust, dirt and oils can build up on the connection plates resulting in a bad connection, also causing unwanted hum.

The noise is probably not coming to much from your pedals, unless you crank them way up and use quite a few at a time. Even if that were the case you would probably notice that it is from them because noise would reduce/increase depending on when you had one or more than one pedal on.

Cables unless they are extremely old or completely abused are relatively the same, it's all just copper wire- whether you buy Monster cables or the 100 pack for $30. The connection is all that will ever change in most cables.

It sounds like it is your amp or your environment. Or maybe your guitar.

Get a humbucker for the bridge pickup when you do heay distortion.
